Retiring from bedside nursing due to my congenital health issues, the Lord still provides a way for me to serve my community in which I live. Crafts 4 Hope Foundation, Inc has been in operation since April 2024. I retired as a registered nurse because I have a neuromuscular condition that affects my balance, and no longer able to do bedside nursing, I am still able to care for my community through sharing the joy of crafting. 2018 was the first time I had a craft or a hobby of any kind. I started with diamond painting and then branched out to coloring and then, card making. I worked hard all my life but now I have retired, and crafting gives me such joy that I want to share my joy with others. Being a nurse by trade, I am a natural comforter of souls so, I thought to myself, “People are in a world of hurt right now. Money is tight. Many people are homeless or on the verge of losing their housing. People are sick and need a hug and many people need prayer. What can I do to make them feel better?” And so, I pulled out a coloring book, bought a few hamburgers and sat at the riverfront in Bridgeton NJ and colored with a few lost, homeless souls. We sat and talked, and I prayed with them and as the weeks passed, with the help of my online friends to help with the cost of becoming a 501(c), Crafts for Hope Foundation Inc was born. God is so good!
